Let's Reset for June

June has always been a special month.

Memorial Day marks the official start of summer. Don't you remember that awesome feeling on the final day of classes?

But now we're adults, and that feeling is long gone.

Or is it?

I was recently on a planning call with some of the SOS leaders, and we talked about concepts like "survival," "resilience," and "transformation."

All of these are relevant as we move from season to season, especially the spring and summer of 2023, as many of us face economic uncertainties, insecurities about our jobs, and how to balance our summer freedom and warm weather with our real-life responsibilities and priorities.

This month's events revolve around those feelings of freedom and reinvention that we enjoyed as kids. A retreat in Costa Rica, our first Table for Six in the Hamptons, and a Cabana for 8 in Scottsdale.

We urge you all to listen for those metaphorical chimes of the ice cream truck and the liberating feeling of putting away your homework and planning an adventure at camp, the beach, or the pool as a kid.

Plan some unplugging:

  • Schedule 24 hours of "me time."

  • Visit an old friend or family member you haven't seen in a while.

  • Learn a new skill, even if it has nothing to do with your job.

  • Do something TOTALLY out of character.

And, if you're not quite in summer spirit yet, ask Alexa or Siri to play one (or all) of these tunes!

Or, find that ice cream flavor that you really loved as a kid and buy yourself a giant cone.
